Description :
In 2000, the Province of New Brunswick recognized the Hôtel Dieu in Saint-Basile as a Provincial Heritage Site.
Between 1885 and 1912, the Sisters' brickyard installed on their land near the St. John River produced the bricks needed to build the orphanage, boarding house, the monastery and the chapel with its magnificent bell tower.
Beautiful silver pieces used during religious festivals are part of the collection of objects of worship.
The exhibits in the Heritage Room are authentic and have all been used between 1873 and 1973.
They are grouped under four broad themes: Health Care, Education, Services and craftsmanship, religious life and Catholic religion.
Open year-round, from Monday to Friday (Reservation recommended)
